Thunderbird forward

by IanB on April 2, 2010

Q: As the Windows 7 operating system does not come with an email client, I have installed Thunderbird. The problem I have with this program is that you cannot edit a message when you are forwarding it to get rid of all the junk which often accompanies emails, I don’t like sending on to other people all the information where the email has been before I get it, is there a solution to this? Perhaps other readers have experienced this.

A: By default, Thunderbird forwards emails as attachments. To change this behaviour go to Tools, Options, click Composition and under the General tab change the Forward messages drop down from As Attachment to Inline. Now when you forward the message text will appear in the message editing area and you can amend it as required.

You can change the way Thunderbird forwards messages from the program’s Tools menu
